New Delhi, Mar 1: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Friday said there is no easy solution to the mistake committed by Jawaharlal Nehru with regards to the Kashmir narrative, reported India Today.
Speaking at the India Today Conclave 2019, the BJP president said the Kashmir situation has deteriorated over the years due to the mistake committed by Jawaharlal Nehru in 1947.
According to a report when asked how the government is planning to resolve the Kashmir issue, Shah said the government is trying its best to come out with a viable solution. “We are working towards it, the plan is going in the right direction,” India he said.
On being asked whether the central government is seeking any changes to Article 370 and Article 35-A, which gives special status to Kashmiri permanent citizens, he declined to comment on the issue.
Shah also spoke on increased tensions between Delhi and Islamabad, citing the Pulwama attack. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government has sent out a “strong message” to Pakistan on militancy, reports said.
He even criticised Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan for not condemning the Pulwama attack. Meanwhile, Shah also said that BS Yeddyurappa should not have politicised the Pulwama retaliation.
“BJP never politicised the Pulwama attack and added that the recent Indian Air Force strikes will evoke a sense of fear in the minds of militants,” reports said.
