Any tinkering with JK’s Special Status unacceptable: G A Mir

Srinagar, Feb 24: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G.A Mir has said that any tinkering with the special status of J&K would further the alienate the people, asking BJP not to even think about touching it (Art 35A)
He also said BJP which has lost the ground miserably was trying to mislead people to gain mileage under the garb of tinkering with special status of the State, which would prove to be disastrous.
In a statement JKPCC President G.A. Mir has said that the Special status granted to the J&K State is a settled issue, any misadventure with regard to Art 35 A, as reported, would further deepen the alienation among the people the fire of which will engulf the entire J&K State.
He said BJP on the behest of RSS and other communal forces seems hellbent upon to tinker with the Art 35 A aiming to regain the lost ground, but I want to caution BJP about the fallout of such a move, which would be very disastrous and disturbing. You can’t achieve anything by tinkering the special status of the State, G.A. Mir tells BJP, so it would be better and advisable for you (BJP) to forget about it, for the fact, Special Status of the J&K cannot be changed, which is sacrosanct, G.A. Mir added.
JKPCC President appealed all the political parties in the Country to join hands and protect Special Status of J&K, as that will be the defeat to BJP and other communal forces in the Country, besides it will restore confidence among the people. (PTK)
