Srinagar, Feb 15: Chairman Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik has strongly condemned the slapping of second consecutive PSA on party leader Zahoor Ahmad Butt who has been shifted to Anantnag Sub-Jail after being slapped with PSA.
“High Court had recently quashed PSA on him and he was shifted to Kupwara jail from Kot Bhalwal jail where form he has been again slapped with PSA,” JKLF chairman said in a statement
While condemning this “state repression”, Malik said that using black laws to prolong incarceration of political leaders and activists is most undemocratic and tyrannical.
He also expressed heartfelt grief over the demise of Abdul Ahad Lone, father of senior JKLF member Fayaz Ahmad Lone, of Kaw Mohala Khanyar. JKLF leaders Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Ghulam Muhammad Dar and others reached Khanyar and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family. They prayed for heavenly abode of the deceased and Sabr-i-Jameel for the bereaved family.
Meanwhile, JKLF has paid rich tributes to Haigam martyrs of 2001 “when Indian forces opened fire on peaceful protesters who were protesting against the custodial killing of JKLF leader Jalil Ahmad Shah”.
A congregational prayers meeting was held at Hygam Sopore in which JKLF district president Syed Nisar Jeelani and others participated and paid tributes to these martyrs, a JKLF statement said.
Remembering the struggle and sacrifices of Jalil Ahmad Shah and others including women, JKLF leaders prayed for their heavenly abode and reiterated the pledge of taking the “mission of these martyrs” to its desired goal. (GNS)
