Police seize 189 gas cylinders in Srinagar

Srinagar, Feb 13: Jammu and Kashmir police on Wednesday seized 189 gas cylinders in down town Srinagar, a police spokesman said here.
He said on a tip off that in view of the closure of Srinagar-Jammu national highway, some people were indulging in black-marketing of gas cylinders in Hawal area of down town city. It was further informed gas cylinders were illegally stored in the house of one Gowhar Ali Sheikh, resident of Hawal.
A raid was conducted by a police team headed by Station House Officer (SHO) Zadibal, Tawseef Ahmad Lone and 189 gas cylinders were seized.
He said police has registered a case and initiated investigation.
