Demands Tehsil status, degree college
Srinagar, Feb 14: Auqaf-i-Islamia Khrew has sent a memorandum to Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan urging him to fulfill their certain demands including establishment of Degree College, Tehsil status and others. The memorandum, a copy of which lies with Kashmir News Service (KNS) reads that the organization has urged the Divisional Commissioner to establish a degree college in their area.
“Our town Khrew is a large town and having large population. There is a mince need of Degree college in our town, which is our long pending demand and was never fulfilled by the previous regimes,” it reads. They also demanded Tehsil status, saying that Tehsil has already been in the regime of Omar Abdullah led government in the state but is yet to established.
Auqaf-i-Islami Khrew also demanded upgradation of public health centre, saying since the town is having a vicinity of so many villages. The town is 5ndustrial town as well and there is having threat of health hazards. There this PHC needs to be upgraded into community health centre.
They also demanded the land “occupied” by the army for firing range comprising 46 kanals be also released as according to them this range has proved fatal so many lives. “Army has occupied more than three hundred kanals of land instead of only 46 kanals,” memorandum reads.
The further demands in the memorandum include development of road from Seer to Truck terminal Khrew via irrigation nehar, water supply scheme Qasim colony be completed and road from Khrew to –pahalgam vis Tral be constructed. (KNS)
