Rare musk deer captured alive in Kangan

Ganderbal, Feb 5: A rare species musk deer who had come down from nearby forests was spotted and captured by locals in Anderwan area of Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Tuesday.
Locals said the animal was spotted in the Anderwan area on Tuesday afternoon. They immediately
informed wildlife authorities and handed over the rare species to them.
A wildlife official said that the musk deer was taken to Dachigam wildlife Sanctuary.
The deer had entered the area after recent snowfall, he said.
