G H Mir for scrapping of SRO 202

Jammu, Feb 1: President Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Party Nationalist (JKDPN) and former minister for Agriculture Ghulam Hassan Mir on Friday said that SRO 202 should be scrapped by Governor Administration post-haste.
In a statement, Mir said that it is grave injustice for qualified youth who after entering into government services through proper channel of JKPSC and JKSSB examinations are paid minimum wages for a period of five years. “During these five years which are mentioned as probation period in SRO, no allowances are paid to these employees in addition to minimum pay scale,” he added.
“Due to this financial maltreatment of employees, state is creating a de-motivated workforce which will impede the development of our state,” he said.
Mir said that on account of rising inflation, the meagre salaries will also promote pressing issue of corruption that our state is battling with.
Keeping in view these socio-economic ingredients, Mir urged the Governor Administration to revoke the SRO 202 of 2015 forthwith. (KNS)
