DC Kupwara reviews progress of languishing projects

Kupwara, Jan 30: District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir on Wednesday convened a meeting with the district officers to review the progress of languishing projects, besides action taken on previous decisions.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, CMO, Executive Engineers PHE, JKPCC and I&FC, EOs of Kupwara and Langate and other concerned district officers.
The DDC took stock of works executed in the district and directed the executing agencies for timely completion.
A detailed discussion on languishing projects was held and officers of different departments informed the DDC about the number of languishing projects and the pace of progress so far.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC impressed upon the officers to speed up the pace of work on these projects and ensure the completion of the languishing projects within the stipulated timeframe.
He also stressed for judicious use of funds besides, the quality material on the works taken up under various sectors in the district.
The DDC on the occasion urged the officers to work with zeal and zest to achieve the targets during the current financial year. He said that the pace of works needs to be accelerated in the district so that benefits accrue to the people well on time.
He stressed on prioritizing the completion of major projects executed under various departments like R&B, JKPCC, PHE and I&FC.
