Two days district level poetic festival at Kargil

Kargil, Jan 29: A two days district level poetic festival held as part of the Republic Day Celebrations 2019 got underway at Language Center New Academy Complex Kargil here today.
Organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Kargil with the title Jashn e Jamhuriat , around 40 poets of Urdu, Balti, Purgi and Shina Dardi languages from across the district are participating in the two days literary event.
Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan was the chief guest on the occasion while as Superintendent of Police Kargil Dr Vinod Kumar was the guest of honour.
The proceedings of the poetic session on the first day were presided over by senior Balti poet and writer Akhone Asgar Ali Basharat while as the poets who rendered their poetic compositions included Ghulam Qadir Zaki, Muhammad Ali Ashour, Muhammad Ali Khumar, Akhone Asgar Ali Basharat, Sibte Hassan Kaleem, Taqi Khan Nayaab, Fida Ali Badgami, Nasir Ali Sodh, Muhammad Ali Baba, Muhammad Jawad Jalib, Muhammad Yaseen Ansari and Feroz Ahmad Chiraag.
Speaking on the occasion, Feroz Ahmed Khan while appreciating the Academy for having organized the two days literary event congratulated the participating poets for the excellent rendering of their poetic compositions.
Earlier during the welcome address Special Officer for Cultural Activities Kargil Muhammad Ali Tak while highlighting the aims and objectives of the two days literary event briefed about the endeavors of Cultural Academy towards the promotion and preservation of cultural heritage in the district.
Writers, poets, intellectuals, district officers, students and literary enthusiasts were present on the occasion.
