Prominent political activists join NC

Jammu, Jan 28: A number of prominent political activists including those from the People’s Democratic Party on Monday joined National Conference in presence of Additional General Secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal.
Welcoming the new entrants at a function held at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan here this afternoon, Dr Kamaal said National Conference is the natural and only choice for all the public spirited political activists who want to serve the people and steer Jammu and Kashmir to peace, progress and development. He said National Conference has chequred history of public service, as it has all along strived for upholding the dignity of the people and providing equal opportunities of progress to all, irrespective of cast, creed and regional or religious considerations.
The Additional General Secretary greeted the new entrants and hoped that with their joining, the party will be further strengthened at the grass roots level. He exhorted the cadre to work for strengthening the bonds of amity and brotherhood.
Besides Dr Amina Sheikh and several prominent PDP workers, who joined the party, reposed their faith in the policies and programmes of National Conference and pledged to carry forward the mission of the party in their respective areas.
