Bank guard shot at in Tral, injured

Srinagar, Jan 28: A Jammu and Kashmir bank security guard was injured critically after shot at by suspected militants in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday.
Reports said that some suspected militants fired upon a person namely Tariq Ahmad Wani son of Abdul Rashid Wani when he was heading towards home at Aabghar road Tral.
Tariq, a resident of Reshipora, was immediately taken to nearby hospital where from he was referred to SMHS hospital for specialized treatment, they said.
Tariq, a former soldier of 5 JAKLI is presently a bank security guard posted in Tral.
A police spokesman also confirmed the incident and said that Tariq sustained critical gunshot wounds and was evacuated to a nearby hospital where from he was referred to Srinagar for further treatment.
Police have registered a case under relevant sections of law and initiated investigation in the matter, the spokesman said. (GNS)
