Demands helicopter service for Banihal

Banihal, Jan 27: Senior Congress leader and former Minister Vikar Rasool Wani on Sunday called on Advisor to Governor Khursheed Ganai at Srinagar and apprised him about the various issues of Banihal.
During the meeting, the MLA urged the Advisor to take up the much needed dropping of ration and medicine through helicopter service in his constituency at an earliest so that the general public do not face difficulties in this tough situation caused due to recent heavy snowfall.
He also sought Government’s intervention in tackling the present crises, besides, restoration of local link roads and power supply in rural areas of his constituency.
For smooth traffic management, the MLA asked the Advisor to clear the landslides and to expedite construction work on NHW in Ramban-Banihal sector.
Vikar Rasool also thanked Advisor Ganai for sanctioning Degree College Ukerhal and requested to help in sanctioning proposed higher secondary schools at Chamalwas Mangith, Pogal Ramsu and Sumber. He also urged upon the Advisor to have detailed tour of Ramban-Banihal to review the public sufferings of the area. The Advisor assured the MLA that all his genuine demands would be addressed at an earliest. (KNS)
