Omar visits residence of Satpal Lakhotra
Jammu, Jan 24: National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah on Thursday expressed grief over the sad demise of Satpal Lakhotra, former Member Legislative Assembly and District President Jammu Rural-A, who breathed his last late last night after prolonged illness.
Omar accompanied by Provincial President Devender Singh Rana visited the residence of the deceased leader at Chak Lal Din in Raipur Domana near here and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
Dr Abdullah and Omar Abdullah, in their condolence messages, have described Lakhotra as a dedicated leader, who remained always in the forefront to highlight the problems of the people, especially down trodden segments of the society, in the Assembly and other forums to seek their redressal. They prayed for peace to the departed soul and strength to the family to bear the irreparable loss.
National Conference General Secretary Ali Mohammed Sagar has also condoled the demise of Lakhotra, saying his death is a great loss for the party. He prayed for peace to the departed soul.
In his condolence message, Provincial President Rana hailed the contribution of Lakhotra in strengthening National Conference in his capacity as District President Jammu Rural-A. He said the entire party stands in solidarity with the bereaved family at this hour of grief.
National Conference Additional General Secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal and senior leaders also visited Chak Lal Din and participated in the funeral procession of Satpal Lakhotra. A large number of people from various walks of life were present at the Cremation Ground when the mortal remains of Satpal Lakhotra were consigned to flames.
