Arrangements for R-Day celebrations finalized at Kargil

Kargil, Jan 21: Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Vikas Kundal today convened a meeting of the concerned officers to finalize the arrangements for Republic Day 2019 celebrations in the district.
Executive Engineers of R&B, Mechanical, PHE, officer of Education, Youth Services and Sports, PDD, Municipal Committee, Information, Cultural Academy besides other officers attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner enquired from the officers about the arrangements being put in place by the District Administration for the celebration of R-Day.
Threadbare discussion was held on the arrangements like security, sanitation, seating arrangements, power and water supply, first aid, reception of VIPs, issuance of invitation cards and other related arrangements.
Arrangements with regard to the deployment of buses, fire tenders, traffic regulation, illumination of government buildings and refreshment to students participating in the national event also came up for discussion.
The DC directed all concerned departments to finalize the required arrangements well in time before the day of the full dress rehearsal on 24th January.
It was informed in the meeting that the main function of the Republic Day will be held at Khree Sultan Chow Sports Stadium Bemathang, where the Chief Guest will unfurl the National Flag followed by march past by contingents drawn from District Police, NCC, and students of various educational institutions. Cultural programs would also be presented by the folk artists of J&K Cultural Academy and school students during the function.
The DC exhorted upon all concerned officers to ensure that all necessary arrangements are put in place well in time for the smooth and successful celebration of Republic day in the district.
He also directed the Mechanical, R&B and Municipal committee to deploy adequate men and machinery so that all the main roads including the main venue can be cleared in case of snowfall.
The DC directed the officers concerned to ensure better coordination for making effective arrangements pertaining to their departments.
