Kashmir difficult to handle

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has once again said that Kashmir is still a challenge and has hinted that situation is far from normal. He has blamed Pakistan for the ongoing violence in Kashmir and has accused the neigbouring country of sending militants into Kashmir.
There is no doubt about the fact that militancy has got revived in Kashmir and the militancy related incidents increased manifolds in the Valley during the past four and a half years. The BJP led NDA government is patting its back for no major attack taking place in any others state during its tenure but same doesn’t hold true for Jammu and Kashmir.
The Government of India needs to introspect why Kashmir witnessed a surge in violence and what led to the revival of the militancy in the Valley? The GoI cannot just put the blame on Pakistan and then sit back. The BJP led government needs to revisit how it handled Kashmir during the past four and a half years? It’s known to all that BJP led government left no stone unturned to enforce peace in Jammu and Kashmir. The only answer to all the problems has been to use force and make people fall in the line. Since 2014 the GoI has not made any attempt to reach out to the people politically. The separatists were turned irrelevant and their space was choked.
India and Pakistan not talking to each other has made the matters worse and it’s the people of Jammu and Kashmir who have faced the brunt of the hostile relations between the two countries. India and Pakistan armies have been continuously trading fire along the Line of Control thus creating lot of problems for the border dwellers. Kashmir won’t be difficult to handle if people sitting in New Delhi show some flexibility and follow the path of reconciliation.
