SC decision to reinstate Alok Verma upheld integrity of institutions: Hakim Yasin

Srinagar, Jan 8: Chairman Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) Hakeem Yaseen has welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to reinstate Alok Verma as CBI director, saying that the apex court ruling was need of the hour for survival and integrity of independent institutions and democratic values.
In a statement, Hakeem Yaseen while welcoming SCs decision to reinstate AlokVerma as CBI Director has said that the decision has brought cheers among the common people as it has once again reinstated belief in independent institutions of democracy which was the hall mark of our ethos. He said it is a lesson for every Central government that misusing of independent institutions including prime investigative agencies like Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and National Investigation Agency (NIA) for political gains has no place in judiciary and civilized society. Hakeem Yaseen has expressed optimism that at last integrity of independent institutions has survived in a big way.
“Let this be a lesson for the Centre about the strength of democracy and the Constitution,” Hakeem Yaseen maintained adding that Centre should understand howsoever despotic it may be, law catches up in the end. He said the Supreme Court decision has re invigorated hope among the hopeless that justice still prevails at the end. (KNS)
