Ineptitude besieged state administration: NC

Srinagar, Jan 8: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Tuesday censured the incumbent governor administration for the lackluster approach in mitigating woes of people and termed the ineptitude a direct consequence of BJP-PDP rule.
In a statement, Party’s Provincial Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar said that the incumbent administration has persistently shown lack of vitality in dealing with the vagaries of weather. “It is upsetting to see people hankering for basic amenities throughout the length and breadth of Kashmir. The share ineptitude that has besieged the local administration is taking toll on people, who have been left to fend for themselves,” he said.
Imran said that his party from day one has been impressing upon the governor administration to ensure all basic and effective amenities to the people. “However our repeated pleas fell on deaf ears. Many low lying areas are still inundated and many hamlets are still beset with darkness. PDD and Mechanical division has miserably failed to deliver on ground,” he said adding that four days have passed since the valley received widespread snow, one can imagine how plagued the administration is that after four days interior roads continue to remain underneath snow.
Imran said that the grim stock of necessary items has piled up the woes of people and that what is pushing the already aggravated people to wall is the chronically plagued health service in primary and secondary health care institutions. “Go to villages and see people yearning for basic health amenities. There are various factors that have attributed to poor health care system in Kashmir particularly in rural Kashmir,” he said adding that shortage of doctors, paramedical staff, unhygienic conditions of health centers, and the lack of political will have compounded the woes of people.
Provincial Spokesperson said that the erratic electricity supply has added to winter woes. “Low voltage, unscheduled cuts continue to hamper daily lives of people,” he said.
Imran maintained that the soaring woes of people in view of the apathetic attitude of administration calls for a democratic government in place which can hold the administration accountable. “If anyone is to be held accountable for pestilence that has hit administration in state, it is the former BJP-PDP government. The need of the hour is to have a strong mandated single party government led by Omar Abdullah that could usher development and hold bureaucracy accountable.” (KNS)
