Tral shuts on fourth straight day to mourn militant killings

Srinagar, Jan 6: Normal life remained crippled for the fourth successive day at Tral in Pulwama against the killing of three militants in an encounter with security forces on Thursday in south Kashmir.
A police official said that there were no restrictions in any part of Pulwama though security forces were deployed in some sensitive areas to prevent protests.
However, shops and business establishments, which remain open on Sundays, were closed and traffic was off the roads in Tral and adjoining areas in Pulwama for the fourth day. But, few private vehicles were seen plying on some interior roads.
Three local militants were killed and as many soldiers were injured on Thursday in an encounter, which ensued when security forces launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in forest area of Tral.
