Srinagar, Jan 6: The bodies of five family members from Tangdhar who apparently died due to asphyxiation in Bemina have been flown to their residence. The bodies were airlifted to their residence by the administration Sunday morning.
Grief and shock struck the place as the bodies reached there.
Five members of a family, including two children, had died apparently due to asphyxiation at their rented accommodation on Saturday.
Khurshid Ahmad Sheikh (45), a resident of Kupwara district’s Tangdhar area, had come here a few days ago with his family for the treatment of his mother, a police official had said.
They had rented a house in Boat Colony near SKIMS Hospital, Bemina, where the elderly woman, Reshma, was being treated, the official said.
The official said Khurshid, his wife, Gulshan, their two children, Faizan, 8, and Furqaan, 5, and Reshma were found dead. He said the police have registered a case in the matter.
“Reportedly, the family had taken room on rent last week as one of the family member was getting treated at JVC Hospital,” said a police spokesman.
After completion of all medico legal formalities, the bodies were shifted to their native village.
