DC Bandipora orders inquiry into black marketing of govt ration, suspends supply officer

Bandipora, Jan 4: District administration Bandipora on Friday suspended tehsil supply officer (TSO) and also withheld salary of assistant director food civil supplies and consumer affairs department Bandipora after a truck load of government ration was seized a few days back.

An official said that following the seizure of one truck load government ration on December 30 in Nadihal area of Bandipora, deputy commissioner Bandipora on Friday constituted an enquiry committee to investigate the black marketing of government ration.

“Pursuant to the seizure of one truckload of rice by the district administration on Dec 30, the assistant commissioner Bandipora is appointed as enquiry officer to investigate the incident of black marketing of government ration,” read the order.

It said that the enquiry officer shall submit a detailed enquiry report within a period of two weeks positively.

“Till the outcome of the enquiry, Mohammad Yousuf Ganai, TSO Bandipora-A, is hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect and shall remain attached with this office during the period of suspension and also salary of assistant director food civil supplies and consumer affairs department shall remain withheld,” the order added.
