Srinagar, Jan 1: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Tuesday asserted that the preferred people with specific affiliations are being given the benefits of IAY, SBM scheme fearing that this trend if persists will push the people to wall.
Former minister and senior party leader Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan while lamenting the favoritism and nepotism in government departments said, “The mass scale of nepotism and favoritism which is rampant in the administrative rank and file of state is a matter of concern for all of us. I even wrote to the honorable governor and his advisor about the rampant favoritism that is in vogue at present requesting them to look in to the matter.”
“The pro poor schemes like SBM, IAY are for the economically challenged and as such the discriminatory approach of the incumbent administration will further add to the mounting worries of common people in the rural areas which are already under duress,” he said.
Choudhary Ramzan maintained the severity of the situation calls for an immediate attention of the honorable governor. “I urge the governor to take wind of the situation and ensure that the benefits of such schemes reach to those who deserve it,” he said.
He said role of such schemes is to help elevate the life style of poor rural families and ensure all inclusive growth. “ How can such a dream be achieved when favoritism has crept in the administrative machinery of state?” he said adding that people get a paltry amount to built their houses, “What is alarming is the fact that people who already have a house and are well established are being given precedence over those who are underprivileged.”
“Such rampant favoritism is bound to hitch the dream of enriching the quality of human life and human development. I hope governor administration ensures transparency in the whole process,” he said. (KNS)
