CE reviews working of PHE Division Bijbehara, Qazigund

Anantnag, Dec 31: Chief Engineer PHE, Abdul Wahid today reviewed the working of PHE Divisions of Bijbehara and Qazigund at a meeting held at Dak Bungalow, Anantnag.
The CE was informed that due to frost 13 Water Supply Schemes were disrupted out of which 11 have been restored and in case of remaining 02 non-functional schemes, the affected areas are being catered by tanker service.
The AEE, Anantnag made requisition for the supply of 03 km length water pipes for the additional line for old town Pahalgam. Funds were also sought for engagement of private tankers for the upper reaches of Kokernag, Pahalgamand Kapran.
The CE also discussed the status of 45 WSS languishing projects for which Rs 102 crores have been sanctioned. He directed the Engineers and other field functionaries to work with close coordination so that people do not suffer during the winter season. He also directed for providing relief to the public and to ensure their attendance on main spots.
Later a grand farewell was also organized on the retirement of Xen PHE, Bijbehara Engineer Bashir Ahmad Shah which was attended by Chief Engineer PHE, SE PHE Kupwara, Xens, AEEs, JEEs and field functionaries of PHE Department.
