PHE Joint Employees association to launch valley-wide agitation from Jan 7

Srinagar, Dec 25: Public Health Engineering (PHE) Kashmir Joint Employees Association on Tuesday said that they will launch Valley-wide agitation from January 07-15 to press for their demands and to protest against the government for failing to fulfill their promises done with thousands of causal labourers, daily wagers and land donors.
Addressing a press conference here at PHE’s Kothi Bagh office, President of Kashmir PHE Joint Employees Association (KPHEJEA), Sajad Ahmad Parray said that the casual labourers, land donors, daily wagers and others have decided to launch a Valley-wide agitation to press for their demands from January 07, 2019.
Parray said that in this regard the forum has decided to lock down all the offices district wise from January 07-15 to mark a protest against the government for failing to come up to the expectations of the casual labourers, daily wagers and land donors. He said that the government has totally ignored them at all fronts. “Governor Satya Pal Malik led administration has even ignored the department in the recent Budget as well,” he said.
Parray told reporters that all the promises done with the casual labourers, land donor and daily wagers by the successive governments including Governor led administration proved ‘hoax’ as not even a single promise was fulfilled so far, thus leaving thousands of employees to suffer.
“We have been promised of regularization from past several years but nothing has been done in this regard,” he said, adding that the government must come clear on the issue of those employees who lost their lives while performing their duties.
He added that the files for regularization of casual labourers, daily wagers or land donors are gathering dust in different offices. “We appeal the authorities to fulfill our demands at an earliest,” he said.
Parray said to mark a protest against the government and in favour of their demands, the association has decided to launch Valley-wide agitation during which they will lockdown the offices, sub-divisions and other offices district wise from January 07, 2019.
