2 die, 39 injured in separate mishaps on Sgr-Jmu highway

Srinagar, Dec 24: The Srinagar-Jammu highway continue to witness deaths in mishaps as two people including an Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) man were killed while 39 others sustained injuries in two separate accidents that took place in Ramban district on Monday.
In the wee hours of this morning, one paramilitary ITBP man died while thirty four others were injured in a bus accident near Ramban on Srinagar-Jammu highway when a private bus carrying Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) contingent skidded off the road and fell into a gorge near Khuni nallah.
Officials said that a bus bearing registration number JK04-5359, carrying ITBP personnel from Kashmir to Jammu skidded off the road and rolled down into a deep gorge near Khuni nallah, resulting in dearth of one ITBF man and injuries to 34 others.
The injured ITBF men were rushed to the hospital for treatment, whose condition is stated to be stable.
In a similar kind of incident, one person died while five others sustained injured after a car and a passenger vehicle collided in Banihal area of Ramban district.
The mishap took place near Gund Tethar, resulting in on spot death of one person and injuries to five others.
The deceased has been identified as Muhammad Abdullah, a resident of Kishtwar. (KNS)
