Exactly one month has passed since the day Jammu and Kashmir Assembly was dissolved. Many political developments have take place during these 30-days but chairman of the Peoples Conference Sajad Gani Lone has not yet disclosed who where the 18 PDP MLAs who had offered to support him to form the government in the state.
There is no doubt about the fact that there is clear discord within the PDP and party stands scattered but barring few former MLAs none have come out in opento support Sajad Lone.
The Peoples Conference led by Sajad Lone has announced its arrival on the political arena of the state but it has to do lot of hard work to dislodge National Conference and the PDP.
On the other hand speculations are rife that one of the senior most leaders of the PDP along with the 15 others is all set to say goodbye to the party and if that happens then one cannot rule out the possibility of one more Front emerging before the forthcoming Parliamentary and Assembly elections in the state. According to the media reports, PDP is planning to show its strength on the forthcoming death anniversary of the former chief minister and the party founder late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. By doing so the PDP wants to dispel the notion that 18 former MLAs of the party were supporting Lone and it wants to drive home another point that the party leadership has pacified the disgruntled leader, who had threatened to run away with the 15 former legislators.
If Sajad really wants to establish his Third Front in Jammu and Kashmir then he would have to open up his cards and tell the people who all were supporting him.
