Srinagar, Dec 24: Amid bone-chilling cold, patients admitted in different hospitals of Kashmir valley are facing great inconvenience due to absence of heating arrangements and broken windows and ventilation in general wards.
Sources said, “There is hardly any heating system in most of the hospitals and associate hospitals in Kashmir valley, while broken window glasses and unkempt surroundings in the general wards further add to the woes of ailing persons.”
They added that not to say of heating arrangement, most of general wards have broken window glasses exposing the patients to bone chilling winds which easily make way inside.
Reports said that there is no heating system in District hospital Anantnag, Pulwama and some Sub district hospitals in other parts of Kashmir.
“My father had an accident and fractured his leg and both arms, doctors admitted him in hospital in Anantnag but after spending two nights in the hospital, his only concern is cold,” said Rasheed Ahmad.
“It’s a sorry state of affair that one of the state’s premiere hospital, which is only hope for poor and common man, function with broken windows glasses and without curtains,” he said.
Sources said that patients make their own heating arrangements by spending huge bucks on blankets to beat the bone-chilling cold.
