Corporation hails deceased’s unparalleled contribution

Srinagar, Dec 18: A retired general manager of Jammu Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation (JKSRTC) Peer Mohammad Khan passed away at SKIMS Soura here after a brief illness. He was 83.
The deceased is survived by two sons and wife. He is also the maternal uncle of Times Television Network J&K bureau chief Mir Fareed.
JKSRTC in a statement issued to GNS said Peer Mohammad Khan’s contribution to the Corporation is unparalleled.
“He is considered as one of the founding fathers of the Corporation whose dynamic leadership and pro-worker approach made JKSRTC a gem amongst the state government corporations,” the statement said.
Even when the corporation suffered due to turmoil post-1990, Peer Mohammad Khan managed the show and steered the corporation through some extremely tough times, a contribution which is hailed by even present lot of officers who regard Peer as a role model and a leader par excellence, JKSRTC said.
It added that the deceased continued to offer his advice and suggestions to ensure the corporation flourishes.
Meanwhile, KVJA in a statement expressed condolence with Mir Fareed on the demise of his maternal uncle and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul. (GNS)
