7 die, 3 injured in Reasi road accident

Reasi, Dec 14: At least seven persons including three minors died in a tragic road mishap after the vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge at Damasgali Bhomag area of Reasi district.
The vehicle bearing registration number (JKO2H-1515) was on its way from Surjandhar to Reasi. The vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge, officials said, adding that the seven persons including three minors died on spot while three others sustained injuries.
The deceased were identified as Pankaj Singh (8), son of Uttam Singh of Chourakote, Bikram Singh (9), son of Bhori Singh of Chourakote, Ram Singh (14) son of Baldev Singh of Chourakote, Ragnu Nath Singh (20) son of Lt Balwant Singh of Chourakote, Surdhol Singh (22) son of Jameet Singh of Atranakote, Romesh Singh (25) son of Gandharb Singh of Atranakote and Karan Singh (40) son of Balak Ram of Harote Kote.
The injured were identified as Uttam Singh (32) son of Mushi Ram of Chourakote, Pardev Singh (21) son of Bhodi Singh of Harote Kote and Lehar Singh (29) son of Tej Ram of Harote Kote.
Officials said that the injured persons have been evacuated to the GMC hospital in Jammu where they are undergoing treatment.
Advisor to the Governor, Khurshid Ahmed Ganai, has expressed grief over the loss of precious lives in a car accident in Reasi district late last night.
In his condolence message, the Advisor conveyed his heart-felt sympathies to the bereaved families and prayed for speedy recovery of those injured in the accident.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah expressed deep sorrow and anguish over the loss of seven precious lives including three children in a fateful road accident at Sujandhar village of Reasi District.
Farooq Abdullah while expressing grief over the incident said, “I express my heartfelt condolences to the kith and kin of those who lost their loved ones. I pray for strength to the bereaved families to bear the loss. What distresses us more is the death of three children in this tragic accident,” he said.
Vice president Omar Abdullah while expressing his grief over the loss of lives in the accident said that the news of such accidents as have devoured many of our people in accidents like these dampens our spirits. “May the departed souls find eternal peace, I pray for the fast recuperation to those who got injured in this fateful incident,” he said.
Provincial President Jammu Devendar Singh Rana, Vice President Ratanlal Gupta, Former Minister S S Salathia and district president Reasi Jagjeevan lal have also expressed deepest sympthathies with those who lost their loved ones.
