Srinagar, Nov 30: Senior JCC Leader and President Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) Ab Qayoom Wani took a strong note of deducting medical allowance from the salary of employees without deciding whether medical insurance scheme is in vogue or not.
In a statement, Wani said that Governor of the state has revoked the medical insurance policy with the plea that there is gross violation in rules in the allotment of insurance policy.
He said that instead of putting mediclaim insurance policy in dilemma Government should have gone for fast investigation to surface out the reality in the whole process and if anybody should have been found involved must have been made public.
EJAC president said that Employees joint Action committee always pleaded that there must be a medical insurance policy for employees of the state and we pleaded it every time.
Wani said that our organisation is having some reservations with the mediclaim policy but that does not mean that employees of the state debarred from the benefits of this scheme and our employees are desperately waiting for the employee friendly medical insurance policy.
He appealed the Governor administration to come clear on this issue or refund the first installment back in the accounts of employees without any delay. He said that it is unfortunate that some treasury officers are deducting the medical insurance from the salary of our employees without any justification and are creating confusion among the employees.
EJAC president also urged upon the Finance department to clear their stand on the already paid first installment by the employees of the state. He said that EJAC leaders have already showed their serious concern before the authorities at the helm of affairs and are in continuous touch with them to get the clarification on the whole issue.
Wani appealed Chief Secretary B.V. R. Subramanyium to look into the matter personally to avoid chaos and confusion among the employees. Senior JCC leader urged upon the drawing and disbursing authorities not to deduct any money from the legitimate salary of the employees until and unless Govt. will not clear their stand on this issue officially.
Wani urged upon Governor of the state Satya Pal Malik that employee friendly medical insurance scheme for employees is need of the hour so that our employees may get cashless medical facility in difficult times.
Wani said that EJAC leaders have already apprised Principal Secretary Finance about the chaos and confusion and the difficulties faced by the employees of the state.
