Clashes erupt in Anantnag against arrest of 3 youths

Srinagar, Nov 21: Security forces on Wednesday burst teargas shells and resorted to aerial firing in south Kashmir district of Anantnag to disperse demonstrators, protesting against detention of three youths by forces early this morning.
Meanwhile, partial shutdown was observed in Junglat mandi and adjoining areas against the detention of the youths.
Scores of demonstrators, including youth and women, hit the streets at Junglat mandi area in Anantnag on Wednesday, against detention of three youth from Srigufwara this morning by security forces.
Shouting ‘anti-forces’ slogans, the protestors demanded that the youth be release immediately. However, security forces deployed in the area swung into action and tried to stop the protestors.
As the demonstrators didn’t back down, security forces burst teargas shells and fired few shots in the air to disperse the protestors, who resorted to stone pelting. “We will intensify the protests if the youths were not release immediately,” a protestor said.
