Srinagar, Nov 18: A paramilitary trooper was killed after militants attacked CRPF camp near Railway station Kakpora in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday evening.
Reports said that the militants fired on CRPF camp resulting in injuries to one personal. The injured identified as Head constable Chandrika Prasad of 183 of D coy was rushed to nearby hospital where he succumbed.
A senior Police officer said that militants fired upon CRPF at Railway station Kakapora, which had arrived yesterday there for election duty.
He also confirmed the death of the trooper.
Meanwhile, two armymen were injured after exchange of firing took place in Larve area of Kakapora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday evening.
Reports said that two armymen were injured after militants and forces exchanged firing in Larve village.
A senior police official said that an ambush was laid by the joint team of army and SOG in Larve today evening.
In the meantime, a group of militants who were passing through the area had a standoff with the forces, he said.
In the incident, the officer said that the two soldiers were injured and have been hospitalized where their condition is said to be stable.
Meanwhile whole area has been cordoned off to nab the fleeing militants he added.
