Governor admin failing to deal with situation arising out of early winter: Bhat

Bandipora, Nov 9: Senior PDP leader Nizamuddin Bhat has said that Governor ‘s administration is miserably failing to deal with the situation arising out of early and harsh winter.
Bhat in a statement said primary sectors of essential services have mostly gone out of gear. “There is an acute shortage of electricity and drinking water in rural Kashmir. The supplies of essential commodities are hampered due to faulty connectivity. There is no adequate arrangement of firewood and kerosene.”
He said the administration has also miserably failed to make a quick assessment of losses to orchards and vegetable fields. “Health services are too inadequate to tackle diseases caused due to cold conditions.”
Bhat said landslides have damaged residential houses in the various snowbound areas, besides damaging roads in several localities. “There is no quick service available for relief.”
He said people in hilly areas are facing hardships and there is no reach out. Referring to demonstrations at places including in Bandipora, Bhat expressed surprise that even the hue and cry is not heard as if the administration has decided to leave people at their own mercy.
Bhat appealed Governor not to be misled reports about an official meeting held at district headquarters as these do not yield the results pronounced and people’s miseries remain unattended.
He said that the administration needs to be geared up to keep connect with ground zero and utilize all available resource to mitigate the sufferings.
