Gayoor Foundation releases ‘Seil-wa-Sehra’

Srinagar, Nov 7: Gayoor Foundation released the book ‘Seil wa Sehra- Urdu poetry’ on the 13th anniversary of late Ghulam Rasool Gayoor on Wednesday. A large number of eminent personalities were present on the occasion. The function was organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and Department of Information and Public Relations.
Inaugural speech was delivered by Muhammad Ashraf Tak, Urdu Editor Cultural Academy.
While hailing the role of Showkat Gayoor, son of late Ghulam Rasool Gayoor, he said that Showkat Gayoor has been playing a key role in making his father immortal and keeping his thoughts and ideology alive among the masses.
Satish Vimal said that Gayoor was the epitome of literary world. He was kind and benign and possessing a highest degree of character. He was having hold on many languages including Arabic. Satish Vimal added that late Ghulam Rasool Gayoor was the poet of pain because of his style and rhythm. He said Gayoor was a top class poet who won the hearts and minds of people especially readers.
Prof Muhammad Aslam said that Gayoor was a top class poet whose poetry made him immortal. He loved everyone irrespective of religion and ideology.
Former Director Information Khawaja Farooq Ahmed Renzu said that Gayoor was a poet of love, peace and harmony. He said that Gayoor lost his life for his thoughts which he cherished.
Dr Nazir Fida also hailed the role of late Gayoor. He said Gayoor was an eminent personality who served society as well.
Ghulam Nabi Khayal, the guest of honour too exalted the role of Gayoor and said that each and everything that is hidden about Gayoor should be made to public.
Retired Judge, Muhammd Nazir Fida also remembered the role of Gayoor in literary world.
Abdul Rehman Rahi described the late Gayoor a live wire and man of principles.
Former, Director Radio Kashmir Bashir Aarif said that Gayoor was a force to reckon with. He said Gayoor possesses a top place in the field of literature and poetry.
Besides, Chief Guest Mushtaq Siddique, those who were present on the occasion included: Rahman Rahi, Ghulam Nabi Khayal, Muhammad Shafi Pandit, Justice Hasnain Masoodi, Satish Vimal, Zarief Ahmed Zarief, Dr Jogindar Singh Shaan, Bashir Arif, and Justice Nazir Ahmed Fida.
