Salman Imtiyaz is new AMU students union president

Srinagar, Nov 4: Mohammad Salman Imtiyaz has been elected as the president of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) students union.
The polling was held on November 3 in different departments of the varsity under tight security, said a spokesman, adding that the results were declared late Saturday night.
After the campaigning of over one week, huge number of students, both male and female participated in it with great fervor and enthusiasm, he said.
Imtiyaz, who hails from Aligarh, is a research scholar of Social Work department.
Hamza Sufyan of Mass Communication department and Huzaifa Amir from Language and Media Management (LAMM) have been elected for the post of vice president and secretary respectively.
Along with it, twelve court members from twelve faculties and ten cabinet members were also elected.
Moreover, separate elections are also held in the women’s college of AMU where Afreen Fatima from Allahabad got elected as the president of Women College Students Union (WCSU) while as Naheed Asad and Maimoona Ansari grabbed the seat of vice president and honorable secretary respectively.
