Srinagar, Nov 2: Former chief minister and National Conference (NC) Vice-President, Omar Abdullah has expressed pain over the killing of BJP leader and his brother in Kishtwar on later Thursday evening.
Omar also expressed condolences to Anil Parihar and Ajit Parihar’s bereaved family and colleagues. He also prayed for the eternal peace to the departed soul.
“Very sad news. My condolences to Anil & Ajit Parihar’s family & colleagues. May their souls rest in peace,” Omar replied to a tweet regarding killing of BJP leader and his brother.
Meanwhile, former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti on Friday condemned the killing of a BJP leader and his brother in Kishtwar on late Thursday evening.
PDP President in a tweet said that these killings are followed by counter threats of violence to avenge their deaths, which clearly is not working.
She said that it was the third such incident in a short span of time which lead to the killing of political workers

PDP senior leader and former finance minister Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari has strongly condemned the killing of BJP leader Anil Parihar and his brother in Kisthwar district yesterday.
Bukhari who is outside the country has termed the incident as most reprehensible and heinous act at the hands of unknown gunmen. Terming the killings of political activists as ‘ghastly and distressing’, Bukhari urged the Governor led administration to nab the culprits of these incidents and book them under law in a time bound manner.
“Irrespective of place and regardless of their political ideologies and affiliations, these killings are barbaric and most heinous crimes against the humanity,” he observed.
Meanwhile, Bukhari appealed the people of Jammu province especially the inhabitants of Kisthwar district to maintain communal harmony and pluralistic ethos of the state at this time of grief.
“I share the pain and sorrow of the Parihar family and extend my heartfelt condolences to kith and kin of the deceased brothers. I also appeal the people of Kishtwar to uphold the rich traditions of our brotherhood and communal amity in this hour of grief,” he remarked.
Expressing solidarity with kith and kin of the deceased BJP leader and his brother, Bukhari prayed for endurance to the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss. (KNS)
Condemning the killing of BJP leader Anil Parihar and his brother in Kisthwar district yesterday, senior CPI(M) leader and MLA Kulgam, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has termed the incident as heinous, barbaric and demanded that perpetrators should be identified and brought to book. It has sent shock waves into Chenab valley and everyone is pained and grieved irrespective of reflection. CPI(M) shares the grief and sorrow of bereaved family.
Peoples Conference (PC) chairman and MLA Handwara, Sajad Gani Lone on Friday condemned the killings in Kishtwar area on Thursday evening, saying that “the dastardly killings in Kishtwar reek of attempts to create strife within the social fabric.”
Lone also expressed solidarity with the bereaved family who lost their two sons to bullets, terming the killers as ‘cowards’.
He said that he hope that the “restraint prevails and the nefarious designs of killers are defeated.”
