Durbar move offices close in Srinagar, to reopen in Jammu on Nov 5

Srinagar, Oct 26: As part of the bi-annual ‘Durbar Move’, the Civil Secretariat, the seat of Jammu and Kashmir government, and other related offices closed on Friday in this summer capital.
An official said that the government offices observing five days week shall close at Srinagar on Friday.
However, he said the offices observing six days week shall close at Srinagar on Saturday after the office hours.
Besides the Civil Secretariat, other Durbar Move offices, including Raj Bhawan, police headquarters and several commissions, will re-opened in the winter capital Jammu on November 5.
Meanwhile, the working hours in government offices in Jammu and Kashmir have been enhanced.
He said J&K SRTC has been asked to make available sufficient number of buses in good condition for transportation of Jammu based employees on Saturday and Sunday and Kashmir based employees on November 3 and and November 4, 2018.
J&K SRTC will also make available trucks for shifting the records from Srinagar to Jammu. “The trucks shall be allowed to enter the Secretariat premises after 1700 hrs on Friday. “Loading of trucks shall commence on Saturday for offices which closed on Friday.
He said loading of records in the offices located outside the Secretariat premises, observing six days week, shall take place after working hours on the last working day, Saturday.
“The loaded trucks shall leave for Jammu on October 28, 2018 in a convoy. J&K SRTC will also ensure that one Crane, two empty Buses and two empty Trucks accompany the convoy on the respective days so that the employees do not face inconvenience due to any break down of buses/trucks on the way. Mobile workshop shall also accompany the convoy,” he added.
According to the order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), the working hours in the Government Offices observing five-day week and six-day week in Jammu and Kashmir Divisions (except educational institutions) have been enhanced with effect from November 1, 2018.
Accordingly, Civil Secretariat and other offices observing five days a week will work from 0930 hrs to 1730 hrs. While as offices observing six days a week in Jammu Division will work from 1000 hrs to 1630 hrs. Similarly, Offices observing six days a week in Kashmir Division will work from 1000 hrs to 1630 hrs.
