Kundal reviews operationalization of SPCA in Kargil

Kargil, Oct 26: Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer (CEC), Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development (LAHDC), Kargil, Vikas Kundal today convened a meeting in connection to the Constitution and operationalization of Societies for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) here today.
The meeting was attended by the Superintendent of Police, Dr Vinod Kumar, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Kargil, representatives from Army, Municipality Committee, Kargil, Wildlife Warden Kargil and other concerned officers.
Threadbare discussion was held on the constitution of SPCA, registration of Members, holding of awareness campaign through print and electronic media, measures to be taken for minimizing dog menace cases and other related issues.
A detailed discussion was also held on disposal of Kitchen waste from various restaurants, hotels and construction of suitable and sustainable Shelter House for large animals.
It was decided in the meeting that at least 20 interested Members of the District Kargil to be included in Societies for Prevention of Cruelty to Animal in its next meeting scheduled to be held in next week.
Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner asked the concerned to maintain close coordination and work in tandem. He also asked them to give wide publicity through print and electronic media to ensure maximum participation of Members in the Society.
