Kashmir remains shut to mourn Sabzar, his aide’s killing

Srinagar, Oct 25: Life in Srinagar and other places of the Valley was paralysed on Thursday in wake of the strike call given by the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) headed by Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik against the killings of two Kashmiri militants, including a research scholar, in a gunfight on Srinagar outskirts.

Sabzar Sofi, a Ph.D scholar who joined militancy in 2016 and his associate were killed in a gunfight in Nowgam on Wednesday.

Shops, business establishments and educational institutions remained closed while transport remained off the roads.
