Yasin Malik still in police custody, remand extended

Srinagar, Oct 24: Chairman Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik, who was arrested along with many others while leading a protest rally at Lal Chowk is still in police custody. Malik along with JKLF zonal organizer Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, Ghulam Muhammad Dar, and Hurriyat Leader Javed Ahmad Mir have been remanded up to 27th of October and are now lodged at Police station Maisuma.
The spokesman said that Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), while condemning this police highhandedness and prolonging of incarceration of JKLF chairman and others, has termed it as most undemocratic and unethical. Malik was arrested by police on 2nd of October and released on 21st of the same month and after only a few hours of freedom he has been again arrested and put behind bars.
