Pulwama, Oct 24: A family of an active militant from Naira village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district Wednesday accused government forces of harassment and vandalizing of their house in the middle of the night.
The family of Hizb militant Irfan Ahmed told news agency CNS that government forces including soldiers from Tahab based camp barged into their house and showered extremely cold water on their beddings to wake up the members. “The forces not only damaged the bedding but also vandalized the property inside the house. They smashed everything that meet their eye,” the family members said adding a couple of members were picked up, thrashed and later released.
The forces according to family were looking for Irfan Ahmed and in his absence they thrashed all and damaged property worth lakhs.
A police official on condition of anonymity while denying the allegations said that Irfan Ahmed is active in the area from past three years and he is behind the IED blast at Trichal in which seven soldiers were injured. “It was a routine raid. No family members were harassed,” he added. (CNS)
