Anantnag, Oct 23: The historic 86-km-long Mughal road was closed today due to slippery road conditions following fresh snowfall.
“We have suspended all traffic movement on Mughal road, connecting Shopian in south Kashmir with Rajouri and Poonch in Jammu region,” the official said.
He said the road was slippery due to fresh snowfall.
However, he said, the district administration from both sides of Pir-ki-Gali are working to restore traffic on the road, which is seen as an alternative to Kashmir highway.
A large number of vehicles, including those carrying passengers, were stranded on both sides of the Gali due to closure of the Mughal Road.
