Stresses workers to keep constant touch with people

Srinagar, Oct 21: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday presided over the meeting of Uri Assembly segment in which she sought details from the leadership over the measures being taken to strengthen the party at the grass-roots.
According to the party spokesman, the meeting was attended by the party’s vice president Abdul Rahman Veeri, senior PDP leader Raja Aijaz Ali, party’s zonal president and workers.
The meeting discussed at threadbare the steps being taken for the party’s overall growth in Uri assembly segment and measures needed to further widen PDP’s outreach.
Presiding over the meeting, PDP President asked the leaders and party functionaries to keep a constant touch with the ground level workers and people who are associated with the party. She also underscored the need of listening to the peoples’ woes and highlight them in a bid to provide them the facilities they have been yearning for.
She also asked the party functionaries to work with zeal and zest for the strengthening of the party and make masses aware about its mission of peace, reconciliation and dialogue.
PDP President also stated that more rigorous campaigns shall be launched by the parties in which masses will be made aware about present political scenario of the state and why it is more important this time to annihilate the demon of communalism and cultivate religions harmony and tolerance in the place which is known in the world for its ethical values and traditions of unity and brotherhood.
