Literary seminar held at GDC Baramulla

Baramulla, Oct 22: In its efforts to promote Punjabi language at different levels and to develop the literary temper among the students, J&K Punjabi Sahit Sabha Baramulla in collaboration with J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages today organized a day–long literary Seminar in the auditorium of Government Degree College for Boys Baramulla with former principal of the College Prof Rajinder Singh Bali as the chief guest.
The seminar marked the enthusiastic participation of Poets, educationists and others related with literary field.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest hailed the concerned for organizing the seminar and sought regular conduct of such programmes for the promotion of the language. He termed the programme as a grand step in enhancing the popularity of Punjabi besides stressed for the introduction of the language at lower levels of education.
Meanwhile various Speakers stressed upon the fact that promotion and preservation of the languages is inevitable for the development of the society, as they stand as the mark of identity for the people. Moreover, the poets and other litterateurs read their works wherein more stress was laid on promoting Punjabi language at curriculum levels.
Among other Principal GDC Baramulla, President J&K Punjabi Sahit Sabha Baramulla, karan Singh Talib Kashmir, General Secretary J&K Punjabi Sahit Sabha Baramulla, Sulinder Singh Sodhi, Janak Singh Sodhi, Prof. Satwant Singh, Writer Prof. Gurcharn Singh Raina, Punjabi writer, Joginder Singh Pandhi, Gurnam Singh Arishi , writer Damodar Singh Hamdard ,JS Panchi and D.S Paars, besides prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
