Tender allotted by Mehbooba Govt awaits execution under Guv’s rule
Handwara, Oct 16: Though tender for the work on Turkpora-Krumhoora road in Handwara area of Kupwara district was allotted by the previous PDP-BJP government but the work is yet to start on the road leaving dozens of villages fuming over the unprecedented delay caused in the execution of the work on this road.
Locals said “few inches of rain inundate the road but the work allotted to the tune of rupees six crore thirty six lakhs by the previous Mehbooba government is not being executed for unknown reasons. The transporters have suspended passenger transport services in most of the villages through which this road is passing. If the work is not started immediately the people of the area will takeout protests on the main road and block traffic to press hard for the immediate construction of the road.”
