Manan Wani’s killing sparks protest in Kashmir University

Srinagar, Oct 15: The killing of scholar turned militant Dr Manan Wani sparked protest after four days in Kashmir University where class work remained suspended after the death of Wani and resumed on Monday.
Reports said that scores of students from Varsity assembled in the premises on Monday and raised slogans in favour of Kashmir Freedom Movement. The protesting students were carrying a huge banner carrying the photographs of popular militants including Dr Manan Wani, Riyaz Naikoo, Professor Muhammad Rafi and others.
Eyewitnesses said that the students marched through the varsity amid intense pro-freedom and anti-India sloganeering.
Scholar turned militant Mannan Wani was killed along with an accomplice in northern Kashmir’s Handwara on Thursday.
