Valedictory function of National Conference on climate change held

Srinagar, Oct 9: Valedictory function of National Conference on Climate Change and Human Health: Issues, Concerns and Opportunities was organized by Govt. Degree College Bijbehara Kashmir in the auditorium Hall of the college on Tuesday.
Director Colleges Prof Zahoor Ahmad Chat was chief guest on the occasion while as Principal Boys Degree College Bijbehera, guests from Jammu and other Principals and ex-Principals were also present on the occasion.
Chat while addressing the gathering said need of the hour was to take steps for the preservation of environment in the state.
According to reports, he said that the water bodies are drying up while as the water level in canals and other rivers is receding. Chat added that the forest cover is also being damaged by one way or the other.
Chat also impressed upon authorities to devise a policy so that the environment may be protected for future generation.
“It is spring season in Kashmir but it looks that we are heading towards winter, which is alarming. Everybody should protect and preserve the environment,” he added. (KNS)
