Security conduct CASO in south Kashmir villages, Sopore

Srinagar, Oct 7: Security forces launched massive Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in about six villages in south Kashmir district of Shopian on Sunday, official sources said.
They said troops of Army, Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and Central Para Military Forces (CPMF) launched a joint search in about six villages in Shopian early Sunday morning. All the exit points were sealed and search operation launched, they said adding no contact was established with the militants.
Meanwhile, Government forces on Sunday launched a cordon-and-search-operation (CASO) after gunshots were heard in Seelu area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Reports said few gunshots were heard in Seelu area after which a joint team of Jammu and Kashmir police’s Special Operation Group (SOG) and army cordoned off the area.
A senior police official said that a police team has been deputed to the site and that they were verifying the incident.
