Srinagar, Oct 8 : Kashmir observed a complete shutdown on Monday as the polling for municipal wards commenced.
Reports of complete shutdown were received from all the district headquarters of the Valley including capital city Srinagar.
All business establishments were closed while traffic was also off the roads. “A very thin movement of private transport is visible on the roads in Srinagar,” witnesses said.
The Joint Resistance Leadership had called for a complete shutdown and also asked the people to boycott the polls.
Meanwhile, train services were suspended for security reasons in the Kashmir
