Police arrest militant in Sopore

Srinagar, Oct 3: Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested a local militant during naka at Baramulla-Handwara road near Hadipora crossing in Sopore town.
A police spokesperson in a statement said that while acting on a reliable input Sopore Police along with Army 32RR & 92 Bn. CRPF arrested one local militant namely Amir Sultan War son of Mohammad Sultan War a resident of Naidkhai village of Sumbal in Bandipora district during NAKA checking at Baramulla-Handwara road near Hadipora crossing.
“The said militant had recently joined the LeT Outfit when his Video has gone viral with a weapon in which he was seen giving threat to the people of north Kashmir not to participate in the forthcoming Local Bodies and Panchayat elections,” the spokesman said.
“Case has been registered in P/S Dangiwacha and investigation has been taken up,” said police spokesman in a statement.
