Withdraws nomination papers for ULB polls

Srinagar, Oct 4: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Dooru ward of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, Ghulam Hassan Bhat on Thursday withdrew hisnomination papers for the upcoming Municipal polls, slated to be held from October 08.
The BJP candidate who was also Dooru constituency president also resigned from the basic membership of the party.
Talking to a news agency, Bhat confirmed that he along with his hundreds of supporters resigned from the party’s basic membership today.
Bhat added that he also withdrawn the nomination papers he had filed for the upcoming Municipal polls.
He said that the BJP claims over the Mudhra scheme, Gas connections, jobs to unemployed youth and others failed to be implemented on the grass-roots level, thus putting the question mark over tall claims of the party.
No benefit was given to the people on the grass-roots level,” he said, adding that the grievances of general public was increasing with each passing day here, thus forcing him to resign from party’s basic membership.
He said that BJP has played with the sentiments of Kashmiris at every front.
Notably, Bhat earlier served the Forest department as a range officer and was also the president of Forest Employees Association. He had joined BJP two years ago. (KNS)
